✯ ATLAS, UNLEARNED ✯

You carry the heavens on your shoulders like you chose them, like you weren't tricked into thinking love means holding up the sky for people who never once looked up to see if you were breaking. You sing in Greek, you pray in Latin, you ache in a language so old even the earth has forgotten it — so dead it has returned to dust. Put it down, my love. You were not born to be a pillar. You were born to be a storm. -LR πŸ–€

The House You Grew Up In

One day you will drive past the house you grew up in and someone else's curtains will be in the windows. The tree you used to climb will be cut down. The pencil marks on the doorframe will be painted over. And you will feel a grief you cannot explain, because a part of you still lives there, barefoot, innocent, believing everyone you love will live forever. Some homes never leave you, even after you have left them. -LR πŸ–€

On Being Temporary

We are taught to fear being temporary, as if fleeting means worthless. But what if temporary is what makes us sacred. A sunset is beautiful because it doesn't stay. A childhood summer is holy because you can never go back to it. Love is devastating and divine for the same reason, because it was never promised to be forever and you chose it anyway. You are not less worthy because you won't last forever here. You are more worthy because you are fleeting, and still, you love. -LR πŸ–€

I still remember how you liked your food. How you took your drink. The exact way you'd say that one phrase that used to make me roll my eyes and smile at the same time. I remember the way you looked at me when you were actually looking. Not past me. At me. I miss that. I miss being seen like that. I see memories of us in places we've never even been together, because in my mind, I already took you everywhere. -LR πŸ–€

✦ What’s the Difference Between Being Alive and Living? ✦

Being alive   is the body’s work—   the pulse,   the breath,   the quiet machinery   that keeps going   even when the spirit feels worn thin.   It’s survival,   routine,   the steady hum   of getting through the day.   But living—   living is the spark.   It’s choosing wonder   over autopilot,   feeling the sun   instead of just noticing it,   letting yourself want things   even when wanting feels dangerous.   Alive is the heartbeat.   Living is the reason behind it.   Alive keeps you here.   Living reminds you   why it matters.   –LR πŸ–€

The Roommate Phase

You don't break up all at once. You fade. One day you are lovers. The next you are logistics. Did you pay the light bill? Who's getting the kids? Are we out of milk? No fight. Just silence where laughter used to be. And both of you feel it. Both of you are lonely in the same bed. He thinks, "If I say how lonely I am, she'll think I'm blaming her." She thinks, "If I say how lonely I am, he'll think I'm ungrateful." So you both say nothing. To keep the peace. And peace slowly kills you. The paradox of long love: You have to risk the peace to save the love. You have to say the ugly, scary thing: "I miss you. Even though you're right here, I miss you." "I don't want a perfect marriage. I want a real one again." Love doesn't die from fighting. It dies from pretending you're fine when you're not. -LR πŸ–€

Death's Daughter

I was not taken. I was chosen. Not stolen from the light — born where the light ends. My father does not carry a scythe. He carries a ledger, a garden, a quiet house with all the lights on for those who are afraid to come home. I learned early how to be gentle with heavy things. How to hold a name in my mouth without dropping it. They call me morbid, as if grief were not a kind of love that stayed too long. As if remembering were not holy work. I braid flowers for the ones no one visits anymore. I sweep the paths between stones. I know every birthday, every middle name, every song they hummed while doing dishes. I am the one who waits at the threshold when the crossing is too wide. I say — It's alright, look at me. I have been here since the beginning. You know my face. My hands are not cold. They are the temperature of earth after rain. Of a forehead kissed goodnight. Of a pocket holding a stone for luck. My father taught me not to rush them. No one is late here. No one is forgott...

The Hunger That Wears Our Shadows

Sparing none, It spread far and wide, Embracing its victims with a death's grip. Not as frost,   not as fury—   but as a presence fluent in the language   of human fracture.   It moved with the slow certainty   of something that has studied us   longer than we have studied ourselves. It spared none   because it understood the soft architecture   of our fears—   the quiet corners where grief collects,   the unlit rooms where memory   still limps behind us.   It slipped into those hollows   like a truth we once buried   but never killed. It spread far and wide   the way a shadow spreads:   not by force,   but by inevitability.   A patient claiming   of every place we believed was safe   simply because we refused   to examine it too closely. Its grip was not merely death—  ...

Threadbare Mercy

The mercy I gave you   was already worn thin—   a tired kind of kindness   I’d patched together   from years of holding myself together   when no one else did.   You didn’t notice that.   You just tugged at it,   pulled at the loose places,   testing how much of me   you could take   before I finally said stop.   And when it all came apart—   that small, fragile softness—   you looked at me   like the breaking was my fault.   Still, I tried to gather what was left,   tried to wrap you in it,   tried to make warmth   out of something   that was already falling apart in my hands.   I should’ve saved it—   that threadbare mercy—   for the younger version of me   who never got enough of it   to begin with. -𝕃ℝ πŸ–€

Fathomless

Dark is the night,  Darker the soul,  Fathomless depths,  Stories untold... Echoes of heartbreak  Down halls made of bone,  Footsteps of memories  I walk all alone. Shadows keep secrets  The moon won’t reveal,  Wounds without bandage,  Too deep to conceal. Yet in this abyss  Where no light dares creep,  I guard what you left me —  The promises you couldn't keep. So let the night take me,  Let silence take hold,  For even the darkness  Can’t bury what smoldered. Dark was the night,  But darker I grew,  Fathomless depths,  And I survived them too. -𝕃ℝ πŸ–€

2026 does not feel like the future they promised. It feels tired. Men are tired of being told they are the problem and the solution in the same sentence. Women are tired of being told they can do everything, so they have to do everything. Everyone has access to everyone and no one feels known. Everyone has access to everything and no one feels full. In 2026 we have AI that can write a love letter, but we have forgotten how to sit in a room and mean it. In 2026 we have more ways to heal than ever, and more people than ever who do not know how to be alone without a screen. This is not the apocalypse. The apocalypse would be louder. This is quieter. This is a world where everything works and nothing satisfies. 2026 is not the year the world ends. It is the year the world asks: If you can have anything, what do you actually want? And most of us go silent. Because we never learned how to answer that without quoting someone else. -LR πŸ–€

Why We Hold On

We don't hold on because the person was right. We hold on because we were not ready for the story to end that way. We wanted the closure. The apology. The version where it made sense. So we replay it. We rewrite it. We keep the door cracked just in case. But some stories don't get a better ending. They just end. And your job is not to fix the ending. It is to start a new story even though the last one still hurts. -𝕃ℝ πŸ–€
